Not because they want to be in charge of a team that is doing Intelligence, but because it fits their preconceptions of “I’m posh/rich - therefore I should be an officer”. NettetINT corps arguably get far more interesting postings if you're lucky enough to be snapped up for them. Make sure you glean as much info as possible from people who are serving within these areas as possible. As you say, you're only twenty and the forces certainly aren't going anywhere.
